In collaboration with Carleton University Film Studies, the Canadian Film Institute is proud to present this special event on that infamous day that echoes across the deep, dark caverns of the horror film genre: Friday the 13th!

This event includes the launch of a new book on the Canadian horror film, THE CANADIAN HORROR FILM: TERROR OF THE SOUL (University of Toronto Press, 2015), edited by Carleton's own André Loiselle and Gina Freitag. Loiselle and Freitag will attend the event to introduce their new book, followed by a screening of one of the films discussed within its pages, SMASH CUT, directed by Carleton Film Studies graduate and Mayfair Theatre director, Lee Gordon Demarbre.

Event begins at 9:00pm. Admission is free for all.
