Rivers of Time: A Retrospective of the Films of Philip Hoffman
March 26, 2008 until April 23, 2008

The CFI is proud to present its five-part retrospective of one of Canada’s most important and celebrated filmmakers, Philip Hoffman. A filmmaker of memory and association, Hoffman creates highly ‘personal’ yet universal works, which weave fiction and documentary in an experimental ‘diarist’ cinema. He has screened his work in England, Holland, Australia, Estonia, Germany, Belgium, Italy, France, and the USA. Philip Hoffman is currently a faculty member in the Film and Video Department at York University. The retrospective coincides with the launch of the CFI’s publication about Hoffman’s cinema, Rivers of Time.  NOTE : All screenings in this series take place in Club SAW. Admission is pay-as-you-can.  Presented with the generous support of the AV Preservation Trust.
