Ben-Gurion, Epilogue
dir. Yariv Mozer
Israel, France, Germany, 2016, 61 minutes
English subtitles, Hebrew

14th Israeli Film Festival
Richcraft Hall Theatre (formerly River Building), Carleton University, Thursday, June 15, 2017, 7:00 pm

It is due to a chance discovery of sound recordings in the Steven Spielberg Film Archive in Jerusalem by director Yariv Mozer that we are afforded extraordinary insight into the personal side of David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first Prime Minister.  Somewhere between a documentary and a historical document, this film was pieced together from 6 hours of footage recorded in 1968 as research for a film on Ben-Gurion which never came to fruition. The footage was filmed in a purposed-built studio when Ben-Gurion was 82 and living a very simple life in the remote Negev Desert. In this remarkable film, Ben-Gurion speaks of various topics from his childhood, to his career, to his vision for the future of Israel. English sub-titles.
