Ana, 26 years old, works as runner on a big film shoot in Belgium. When the shoot ends, she makes an impulsive decision and heads to Strasbourg, where she grew up. Like many in her generation, Ana lives a life teetering on the edge between success and failure. She is strong but full of self-doubt, tomboyish but sweet, temperamental and impulsive, innately clumsy, vulnerable, erotic—and rebellious. Over the course of a summer, during which a broken love affair briefly blossoms again and her beloved grandmother is hospitalised, Ana does her best to cope with life. Made in the cinematic style and spirit of the French New Wave, director Lang’s sparklingly humorous debut explores loves found and lost, and the complex challenges of finding one’s path in life.
