Peru’s 2008 Oscar submission is
a gentle but insightful historical drama situated at the beginning of the 20th
century. It tells the story of a traffic engineer, Enrique Aet (Diego Bertie),
and his efforts to improve communications between the Peruvian jungle and Lima. Beautifully rendered, SHADOW depicts the
interconnection between a personal and social struggle for the improvement of
life. English sub-titles.
