dir. Wei Te-Sheng
Taiwan, 2008, 120 minutes

Auditorium, 395 Wellington St., Thursday, September 24, 2009, 7:00 pm

Set in the southern coastal town of Hengchun, CAPE NO. 7 follows the fortunes of smalltown singer A-chia, a local boy who has returned to Hengchun after a tough time up in the city of Taipei. A-chia starts work as a mailman, where he comes across a mysterious love letter written six decades earlier but it has yet to be delivered. Meanwhile, a former Japanese model stranded in Hengchun decides to put on a live event. A-chia's stepfather decides to get a band together with his stepson and five other local residents to enter the concert. The film follows their preparations in a multi-layered story. This charming, entertaining comedy is one of the biggest box office successes in the history of Taiwan. English sub-titles.

Presented in collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Ottawa). Free admission!
