DARLING is a darkly comic portrait of life in modern Stockholm, as seen through the experiences of a spoiled young woman and a 61-year-old man in the midst of his decline.  Eva is beautiful and self-absorbed, the product of a sheltered upper class existence, as a sexual indiscretion sets in motion her journey into the outside world – a world that is by turns real, ordinary, and strange.  Meanwhile, Bernard, down on his luck and divorced, is hitting the pavement searching for work, as he tries to maintain his self respect.  The two characters cross paths in a McDonald’s one fateful night, forming a friendship that crosses the gulf between them.  DARLING is a thoughtful, compelling film about the need for human compassion in today’s society.  English subtitles.
