A film based on a true story in Germany in the 1970s. The radicalized children of the Nazi generation lead by Andreas Baader, Ulrike Meinhof and Gudrun Ensslin are fighting against what they perceive as the new face of terrorism: American imperialism supported by the German establishment, many of whom have a Nazi past. This new generation is trying to create a more humane society, but by employing inhuman means they risk losing their own humanity in the process. The man who hunts them, the head of the German police force Horst Herold, understands them best. While Herold succeeds in his relentless pursuit of the young rebels, he knows he is dealing with only the tip of the iceberg. English subtitles.
