This film, from highly respected Latvian filmmaker Janis Streics, tells the story of a wealthy 19th century Latvian farmer and his family. Streics, born 1936, is intimately familiar with the ‘soul’ of his native land, and has previously directed 16 critically acclaimed films in an effort to capture it. Rudolph’s Legacy is a film about a country, both directly and philosophically, its history, and it’s a film about family.  Canadian premiere!
