A compelling familial drama following the harried life of Jón, a college professor who's preparing to marry a much younger woman and must contend with her disapproving parents, an insurmountable debt, and the memories of his traumatic first marriage. Loosely based on Anton Chekov’s IVANOV, WHITE NIGHT WEDDING explores similar themes, and is equally full of delightfully flawed characters. Straddling a thin line between melodrama and comedy, the film is a fascinating study of human nature, and the desperate desire to find love, from one of Iceland’s most critically acclaimed filmmakers. English sub-titles.
