Ulrik (played with deadpan perfection by the legendary Stellan Skarsgaard) is reluctantly let out of prison after serving 12 years for murder. He has to cope with his gang, his ex-partner, a few other women, and a snitch. His son has a fiancé. Her family doesn’t approve of murder. (As his son observes, they have a nursery, they have principles.) Ulrik is a somewhat gentle man. But really, in the face of all these challenges, how gentle can you be? All this, plus he’s losing his hair. Moland’s wry film is an offbeat and oddly appealing character study. English sub-titles
