Mój rower (My Father's Bike)
We are introduced to crotchety retired jazz performer Włodzimierz, (played by Polish jazz luminary Michał Urbaniak) as his exasperated wife Barbara leaves him for another man after decades of marriage. Her sudden departure sparks a full-blown family crisis. Włodzimierz's highly successful classical-pianist son Paweł interrupts his globe-trotting schedule to track down his errant mother, and the ensuing road-trip sees Paweł, his father, and his semi-estranged teenage son Maciek confront various issues, enmities and family secrets. This “wryly comic crowdpleaser” (The Hollywood Reporter) also took the Best Screenplay award at the Gydnia Film Festival, Poland’s national film festival.
