A runaway hit in its native country, surpassing all previous box office records including one set by James Cameron’s TITANTIC, this film recounts a vital period in the history of Latvia. Taking place in November 1919, it is a story about friendship and love set against the backdrop of the miraculous Latvian victory over the joint German-Russian forces who refused to leave a Latvia that had declared its independence shortly after World War I ended, a full year earlier.  A grand, sweeping historical epic about personal and political triumph.
