LAFF 2016 Poster (design by Dany Pepin)The Latin American Film Festival (LAFF) showcases features, documentaries, and short films from south of the Rio Grande. Presented by the Canadian Film Institute (CFI), the event features only contemporary Ottawa premieres, gleaned from the screens of such festivals as Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, and Chicago to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Latin America.
Each year, experience the work of Latin America’s greatest filmmakers, as well as Embassy-hosted receptions, over the span of the ten-day prestigious film event. Five-film Passports and special prices for members, seniors, and students are made available. This exciting event is presented in collaboration with the Group of Latin American Ambassadors (GRULA).
As part of the ongoing development and expansion of the annual Latin American Film Festival, the Canadian Film Institute introduced South ↔ North: New Latin American Documentaries in 2012, offering films with a Canadian connection.
