Thomas, a young German baker, is having an affair with Oren, a married Israeli man. When Oren dies in a car crash, Thomas travels to Jerusalem. Not disclosing the relationship, Thomas infiltrates the life of Anat, his lover's widow, who owns a small café. Thomas works for her, helps her business thrive and becomes involved in Anat's life in a way far beyond his anticipation. He transforms himself to embody the memory of his dead lover.
